The project "Key Technologies and Applications in the Design and Preparation of High-Voltage Intelligent Power Driver Chips" led by Professor of the School of Electronic Science and Engineering of Southeast University, Sun Weifeng, who is also Julin consultant won the second prize of the Technology Invention Award.
The team has long been committed to solving the core technical problems in the design and preparation of high-voltage intelligent power drive chips. Power chips are the "core" of power electronic systems, which are widely used in smart manufacturing, new energy transportation, power equipment, smart homes, and other fields. They are the underlying guarantee and basic support for the deployment and implementation of the China's new infrastructure.
Since 2009, Professor Sun Weifeng’s team has conducted in-depth theoretical research around technical problems, and has long-term and in-depth cooperation with the industry to jointly develop key core technologies, including high and low voltage compatible technology on floating substrates, low loss power device technology, and transient electrical shock resistance. A series of innovative inventions have been made in intelligent circuit technology and high power density integrated interconnection technology, and a technical system for the design and preparation of high-voltage intelligent power drive chips has been constructed. More than 80 high-voltage intelligent power drive chips have been designed and produced, which have been adopted by over 100 domestic and foreign companies.
At present, the developed chip has been applied to the air-conditioning system of "the world's first 350km/h intelligent high-speed rail-Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail", contributing to the development of our country's high-speed rail. In addition, it is also widely used in a new generation of smart meters, with a market share of over 70% in the field of industrial smart meters, breaking the monopoly of European and American companies in this field, and providing an important guarantee for the strategic security of our country's smart grid system. Because the failure rate of chip is less than one in 100,000, the cumulative sales of it in smart home appliances market have exceeded 1.6 billion, ranking the first of the market share of China.
The success of this project has promoted the development of Chian’s high-voltage intelligent power driver chips, and has achieved an important shift from relying on imports to being independent and controllable and serving the world. At the same time, in the process of project research and development, the development model of "government, industry, university, research and application" was implemented well, and a group of high-level integrated circuit professionals were trained for the country.
